Spam Update

It is possible to do something about spammers hijacking your domain! Andy Markley did it. I'm contacting SpamCon today.

DNC Update

This article is a few days old, but it offers the Oklahoma and Colorado judges' opinions. The idea that the list violated telemarketers' free speech rights baffled me. I mean, free speech applies to public venues. Just try exercising your free speech rights at work or any sacred corporate ground. It turns out the telemarketers object to charitable organizations being exempt from using the list. Bush did sign the bill, but the battle goes on.

That's Science Fiction!

Sometimes reality just takes us further out than anybody's imagination.

Electronic Paper. Scientific American wrote about a report published in Nature magazine regarding a new electronic paper developed by scientists in the Netherlands. The electronic paper is capable of switching colors fast enough to show video. Electronic paper is a nifty technology with a lot of applications. GE is developing lighting wallpaper. Also interested in the new electronic paper, advertising is set to utilize the new technology. [kuro5hin.org]

Giant Guinea Pigs in South America! Scientists have found fossils as big as a bison.

Walking the Frog

Of course I want to raise my voice in Project Frog Walk, but kriselda and others are doing such a great job that I can't add much more besides another call for an investigation, one more voice screaming in the wilderness. Maybe I've read too many thrillers, but I'm at a loss to understand how Robert Novak thinks there's been no crime committed in outing a CIA operative. So maybe a journalist can't go to jail for doing it, but isn't it immoral, unethical, and stupid to expose someone in that kind of job? Like, lives could be at stake? I'm further at a loss to understand why the White House thinks it's no big deal. But we haven't agreed on many things.
