The State of the Union's Most Chilling Moment
Legally, one member of the President's cabinet is not invited to attend the annual State of the Union address. The reasoning is that should something catastrophic happen, there's at least one member of the executive branch to create a new government.
Last night's non-attendee? Attorney General John Ashcroft.
That was, perhaps, the most chilling part of the evening.
