SADDAM SENDS A LETTER...
After repeated and increasingly frantic efforts to track down Saddam Hussein, the man himself decided to send George W. a letter in his own handwriting to let him know he was still in the game. Eagerly Bush opened the letter and read the following coded message: 370HSSV-0773H. Bush was baffled, so he typed it out and emailed it to Colin Powell for interpretation. Powell and his aides were baffled too so they rushed it to the CIA. No one could crack the code – not even their top cipher-busters working through the weekend on the Agency’s most sophisticated computers. Off it went to the NSA, and then to MIT and then to NASA, and finally to the Secret Service. Eventually, all nonplussed, very reluctantly they asked MI6 for help.
By return of email they contacted the White House with the following simple instruction: "Tell the president he is looking at the message upside down..."
