Dick Jones' Patteran Pages
A patteran is a coded configuration of leaves, sticks and stones left at the roadside by Gypsies to communicate with each other. This is my digital version, left for any passers-by...

21 May 2004

I’ve just stumbled in at 9.05 from a technical rehearsal that lasted for what seemed like the better part of a week.  Prolonged exposure to the interior of the theatre has produced a sore arse, partial blindness & a stripped throat.  So I’m letting a couple of other blogs do the work tonight.

First, courtesy of The King of Cologne, a fascinating collection of photographs taken by GIs serving mainly in Iraq. Not an abused prisoner in sight.  Instead, a bunch of kids a long way from home with their minds on anything but international politics.  Check out my namesake G.I. Jones.  14-years old, maybe?

And then a brief glossary of enormously useful words in various languages, lifted from Open Brackets.
