Dick Jones' Patteran Pages
A patteran is a coded configuration of leaves, sticks and stones left at the roadside by Gypsies to communicate with each other. This is my digital version, left for any passers-by...

Elections are in the air ñ the local council elections here (within which Labour are predicted to receive a caning) &, of course, the run-up to the trouncing of Bush.  With these exercises in democracy in mind, the above illustration is a public service message.

Unfortunately, nothing runs on time in Britain.  Trains & buses lurk around corners awaiting some subliminal signal before gliding nonchalantly up to their fuming passengers 12 minutes late. Even email limps here: I sent two vital emails last night cancelling a meeting & neither arrived until this morning.

So although the babyís due tomorrow, weíre assuming that sheíll show True Brit & wonít put in an appearance until weíre least expecting it.  Why storks are used I really donít know. Have you ever watched them? They donít so much fly as pull themselves along on their elbows!  Anyway, brothers & sisters, you will be amongst the first to know since weíre aiming for a home birth & the computerís in the next roomÖ
