Dick Jones' Patteran Pages
A patteran is a coded configuration of leaves, sticks and stones left at the roadside by Gypsies to communicate with each other. This is my digital version, left for any passers-by...

23.48.  Tens machine applied.  Slow progress but all apparently as it should be.  Rather mysteriously, still little pain although the contractions are increasing in frequency.  I'm going to get a little sleep before the next phase, the bit where a guy actually has some functional part in the proceedings.  They're rather relieved to see me go: I keep asking witless questions.

22.20. Definite contractions, but Emma says she feels virtually no pain. Diane is baffled. The contractions are coming every few minutes now. Reuben's downstairs with our very supportive neighbours & we're sitting around in the living room awaiting more conventional developments.  Strange times.

BLOGGING FROM THE FRONT LINE...

Things may be on the move here.  Emma reported a few early rumblings this afternoon after a checkup by Diane, the midwife. The two of them are being elaborately casual in the living room (it's to be a home birth), rather like Battle of Britain pilots just before going up to knock hell's bells out of Jerry.

It's now 18.05, the sky is clear & we're just waiting for the call to scramble.  Stand by your blogs.  More later...
