Dick Jones' Patteran Pages
A patteran is a coded configuration of leaves, sticks and stones left at the roadside by Gypsies to communicate with each other. This is my digital version, left for any passers-by...

MUTATIS MUTANDIS

There is an understanding that,

if the stars are yellow and the moon

is wrapped in a milky caul, then dreams

will pass through the muslin veil

that hangs between this versal world

and the world beyond. At such times

the longed-for wings unfurl, the water

turns to wine and, whichever way you turn,

your lover will be coming through the door.
