How To Save the World

Congratulations to Dave Pollard over at How to Save the World!  His Salon Blog has just been nominated for the Koufax Best Blog award for the year.  To qualify how prestigious this nomination is, consider some of the other blogs nominated-- CalPundit, Daily Howler, Daily KosEschaton (Atrios), Liberal Oasis, Matt Yglesias, Orcinus, Ruminate ThisTalking Points Memo, Talk Left, Tapped, and Tbogg, to name a few.  A few of the nominations are blogs I link to; a fact I'm quite tickled about right now.

Dave's blog is an amazing mix of information--blogging, writing, storytelling, politics, economics, sociology, business, and environmentalism, to name a few.  One aspect I find most refreshing is his use of graphics and tables to accentuate a post.  This nomination is well deserved.

Bush is Serious about Finding the Culprit of the Plame Leak

Scott McClellan was quoted in today's Washington Post as saying: "The president has always said that leaking classified information is a serious matter, and certainly no one wants to get to the bottom of this more than he does."
How serious is the president about getting to the bottom of this? I doubt very seriously at all. Why? Look at the amount of time it has taken for him to accomplish the things he believes in.  For example, both tax cuts were handed out within months of being made known. The war against the Taliban and Al Qaeda started three months after that attack on the WTC.  Likewise, the invasion of Iraq started two months after troop buildup began. Yet, the Plame leak occurred in June.  Seven months later and the president is still tip-toeing through the tulips spouting off the same rhetoric as he did in late summer.

Other good reading about the latest news of Ashcroft recusing himself from the investigation can be read and accessed over at The Agora.
