My Film Page

I've been trying to create a new category page for film news, comments, and my reviews.  I'm having problems so bear with me. I am posting to my home page and my Film page, wherever that is and whatever it looks like. Userland Help is being too vague on specifics about setting these up.

Film is my first love. From a young age, I've enjoyed losing myself in the story and characters of a good film. Fortune was good to me. My parents owned a theater so I literally grew up with it.

Film is one of the most important and enjoyable mediums we have for understanding the unique issues we face as a vast, expansive world family. Like literature, film is an exciting attempt to clarify the meaning of our existence and experience, or, as the great William Shakespeare penned: What it is to be.

I hope this movie section creates an avenue for intellectual discussion and analysis of film. Is the role of film entertainment and enjoyment? Is it a form of art? If so, what constitutes film art?

Is film a depiction of historical landscapes, the human and social makeup of a season, year, decade, or era? Is film a study of human nature and psychology.

My second hope in offering this Film page is to create an extensive database of some of the best in studio,
independent, and foreign films; a source of resourceful links; and prestigious film awards.
