HOME Sunday, July 03, 2005 WOTW Grosses $66 Million Opening Weekend Steven Speilberg's film War of the Worlds brought in an impressive $66 million in its first opening weekend.  That is $101.7 million for its first five days, making it the second biggest opening grosses for 2005.  The BoxOffice Report projected WOTW to make $71 million, so in that regards, it isn't performing as expected. Click here for the news report. Note: These figures do not include grosses for Monday, July 4th.
