This Ongoing War

My cats know when I’m in a good mood and they know when I’m a bit depressed. No, really! Yogi and Boo Boo normally are, well, normal cats. Meaning they are rather independent. Rather snooty in a feline sort of way. They merely tolerate my wife and I.

But when I’m a little blue they’ll hop up into my lap and curl up – something they don’t ordinarily do – as if to say, “I feel your pain – now cheer up (and scratch me just behind my ears)”.

This morning I called the vet to make an appointment for Yogi. No appointments available until 10:00 pm. (It’s 9 am now). No appointments? Called the other vet. No appointments either. No appointments? This is a first. It seems that all of the pets in Waipahu, Hawaii are sick and tired literally.

How do they know?
