Message of low importance received
Light blogging today. I am currently involved in the bidding of the queen and task master. But I do have a bit of a rant I'd like to air. First, let me say that, culturally speaking, I'm way apart and long gone (read old fart) from the phat crowd if that cliche still endures. For that I certainly don't apologize.
There aren't a lot of Sloggers that will remember Marquis' Archy and Mehitabel in first edition ( I'm purposely not providing a link). I don't hail from the twenties but I do read voraciously and this book is still sold in paperback. Does anyone else notice a growing populace of "Archy's" in the neighborhood?
I do suppose that some traditions were meant to disappear due to evolution of the species as it were. I hope the tenets of writing isn't one of them. On a similar note, perhaps that's reason enough for the increasingly popular new audio blog. Audio blogs are certainly simpler, faster and easier. No spell checking is involved. I can only deduce uppercase letters by voice inflection - presumably when a new sentence is begun. Perhaps we are looking at the future - an increasingly expeditious and yet sorrowfully austere world bound entirely by the cell phone and instant text messaging.
Archy could only hit one key at a time. Humans are either making some kind of juvenile rebellious statement of sorts or are just lazy.
