Gotcha Again!
Okay then. I'm officially awake now thank you. Every year it's the same old thing. And every year I forget about it until it's far too late. It's the military's little memorial day prank The FAA has no jurisdiction over these guys which means practically they can pretty much do as they please. In this particular annual case it's some general somewhere that orders six "airpeople" to climb into three F-15's and go "wake up some folks." They use F-15's opposed to F-16's because the F-15 is a considerably larger and noisier aircraft having two engines apiece rather than a single respectively. I don't know if you've ever been next to an F-15 in full afterburner mode let alone three of them flying overhead at an altitude of two-hundred feet but I liken it to someone setting off an A-bomb on your head!
Same reaction from the wife every year, "Oh my Gawwd! What in the HELL was that?!?"
Well boys, mission accomplished. It'll take me three days to get the cats out from under the bed. 'Till next year then.
