| Some recent news stories: PORTLAND,
Ore. - Craig Sowash, a 43-year-old sales manager with a pulp and paper
company, says he feels more confident with customers ever since he had
the wrinkles on his face smoothed out with a few injections Competition
for corporate jobs among aging baby boomers, along with quicker,
cheaper and less invasive techniques, and greater attention to grooming
among men are helping drive an increase in cosmetic procedures among
the male of the species. Traditional
plastic surgery rose about 10 percent among men and 14 percent among
women from 2002 to 2003, according to society figures. Nose jobs were
the most popular surgical procedure among men, followed by eyelid
surgery and liposuction. "You
see a lot in the media about `metrosexuals,' or men who are dressing
well and taking care of themselves," Ross said. "Probably 15 years ago
that would have been ridiculed and now it's acceptable." I
don't have any link to this Yahoo piece. Those links only last a few
weeks. Trust me. It's there. This was a piece about now day's pretty
men. I would like to say, "Excuse me while I puke." but that kind of
modern conversation is probably rude. Instead, let's talk about the
women. (Please, I don't stereotype whenever possible within my opinions
of course - these items are in the general news.) This following story got me started today: (The link is current - may not be forever) However,
many of the students surveyed did have a favorable attitude toward
cosmetic surgery. The study surveyed 559 college-aged women at six
universities. Among the 5 percent who had cosmetic surgery, a chemical
peel was the most common procedure, followed by breast augmentation,
nose reshaping and breast reduction.More than 60 percent of the women
said they could envision having at least one cosmetic surgery procedure
in their lifetime, and more than two-thirds reported knowing someone
who had such surgery. In
2003 there were 8.7 million cosmetic surgeries. That's a fact in the
U.S. - or you might find another statistic. Do I believe this one. Yes,
probably. How many of us will popularize this "procedure" in one's
life. Who knows? I'll bet money that none of any of my prior party
invites will ever be in this medical procedure. Nor will I. In my eyes,
the woman that I have been with for thirty years is still as cute as
she was when I met her. Don't give me any shit about that - I'm about
as beautiful that I have always been. No one lives forever. If a person
is extremely lucky, you might get older. I'm simply not interested in
working for a person who thinks that I'm not "cute enough". Well, guess
what? I don't want to work in any computer industry where my "good
looking's" are important. No cosmetic surgery will ever be necessary for anyone - period. The idea of the story that I presented is very interesting. Did these things happen only to me? What did the rest of you do? Have a nice day beautifuls. You can have my well paid job. Just smile a lot. |
