President Bush
Let's Sue Him - Again for the x'th time

In the past week there have been ten states suing the idiot's administration about "cowing" to the big industries. "cowing" to the big industries isn't necessarily a bad thing but coal is a big add to our world's mercury pollution addition and a lot of folks are crying about it. Bush is pushing for coal fuel as our next big provider for our electricity. What's wrong with that?

Not much. The element mercury occurs naturally in the crust of our world. Every piece of anything that we dig out of the earth will contain mercury. Once we bring it out we can't eliminate it. Coal contains a lot of mercury.

Mercury settles in rivers and eventually oceans which accumulates in fish. In people who eat those fish, the toxic methylated metal can cause neurological and developmental problems, especially in fetuses and children.

Our list of Bush's partiers includes New Jersey's attorney general's office which is taking the lead on the lawsuit. The eight other states involved are California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York and Vermont. The Sierra club likes Wisconsin for joining the club. I'm looking at New Mexico. What do the rest have in common? California isn't new to this territory. California's governor might even be re-elected.

In announcing his approval of the lawsuit, Gov. Jim Doyle (WI.) said that the Bush administration has loved the coming electricity plants with new guidelines for emissions that could allow 19 states to increase mercury emissions in the next five years by setting caps that are higher than current levels. Wisconsin has a particularly high level of mercury in its river fish which those people tend to eat a lot.

Why don't the other nine states care? Or the rest of the world? Don't throw away your own fluorescent lamps carelessly. You'll be as bad as what's his name.
