America's current bush score |
| The currrent news from CNN.com reports that the current approval rate for our President Bush falls to 39%. Am I surprised with this information? Yeah, I am. On our other hands, am I surprised with this information? Hah! Really, Nope! Here's my question: "When will the rest of you 39% ever figure this one out?". | |

Is rich an American? Where did Peanut Butter Come From? |
|
|
Well, hmmm, Is that Important? |
| Strangely, to some people that sticky pasty peanut butter stuff is important. Why?
I always end up with myself in trouble. Why are some of my relationships with some young women mostly problems ultimately blamed on rich? The one that I ran into was a college girl at the Hawaiian Pacific University. This girl's name is Patrina (Last name withheld of course). This woman is from a place in South America called Brazil. We have a lot of students who come from all over the world. Sometimes they kind of catch on to the funny thing - they didn't come to college in America - they came to college in Hawaii! Hah Yeah, this is where I wanted to go to college too. |

A Brazilian woman's trash item - the 1923 Rhesus combination of chocolate and peanut butter |
Does anyone who might be American personnel recognize these items in this photo (left)?
I'll tell all of you what I've heard from this same college woman. "Oh God, I can't eat those. Only Americans eat peanut butter."
Yep. I'm not inventing my stories. I know exactly what most women put in their mouths (My previous blog). This college girl had a big "candy jar" on her desk. The items in this photo were given to me as a gift. Hooray! Thank you very much darling.
Watch out folks. Making fun of Americans is completely legal as long as I am able to write in return. :-) Perhaps I can be just as humorous as the items that you might have brought up too.

| Let me start with my story briefly. Does anyone out there recall a single-termed American president by the name of Carter? I'll bet that he is not a popular guy in a certain country called Iran. On the other hand, this man is a peanut farmer and I'll be equally able to bet that he might enjoy a peanut butter sandwich.
I have to step closer to the time machine in my home. Let's go back in time a little while. Was peanut butter invented in America? No. It wasn't, but we might have an occasional fun story once or twice. I try not to stereotype any people - not even any Americans. Peanut butter isn't popular in certain European countries. At the same time I might remark, "Yuck. I'm not going to eat my French Fries with mayonnaise."
It is very difficult for everyone to determine any historical facts about any origin of peanut butter. African's have ground peanuts into various foods since the 15th century. Have the Chinese peanut sauces that I have enjoyed on a lot of foods existed for the same centuries? Probably mention thousands of years....I think that America is a country that is relatively young.
American Civil war soldiers ate a certain so-called peanut porridge. Who really knows these days?
Back into the time machine. Let's start with some more American ridiculousness. Is anyone catching on yet?
Somewhere in time around 1890 an unidentified physician encouraged one guy named George Bayle Jr. to package peanut paste as a nutritious protein rich food for some of his doctor's teeth-limited patients in that time period. |
| In circa 1897 a man by the name of Jerome Monroe Smucker came along with his own horse-drawn wagon to sell something that he called "Apple Butter". Later he combined a couple of things that he discovered for his own company's benefit. Guess what those two items were? Yep, congratulations to all of you Americans' -fat keikis (kids). No child could evade these food items. These things might have come from the Smucker's Corporation. They perceived that American kids didn't like any breads' crusts. Yep, the Smucker's Corporation has exported these sandwiches to over 45 countries. This company cut the bread crusts off. Did they miss you Miss Bolivia? |

Sorry. I never liked these PB&Jellies either |
| Special Note: When rich was a kid my own mother fooled me with something else in our sandwich category. Oh yeah, the peanut butter was there. My mother put this sticky stuff together with bananas and lettuce. For my own keiki I might substitute raw spinach for the lettuce instead. Can my mother or any other mother in this world know just exactly how fine this peanut butter sandwich is for anyone in terms of general human healthiness? [Let's see, protein, vitamin A and others, iron (Fe+) or perhaps potassium(k+) - think about your kids. These are all very important chemicals in our food selections.] |
