As most of you folks are aware - I've had other interests in our times. I missed this one from the L.A. Times on the 14th. I apparently have a few contacts in California. Maybe I'll have to catch this newspaper a little more. In my opinion the L.A. Times is at least as good as is New York or some other unnamed ones that are very good too. Ya know, that state on the west is a bit pesky these days. Well, let's have some more too. You ought to.
My complaint today doesn't target either republicans or democrats. Sometimes I'm just upset with America's idiot-based government spending (or substitute "anything").
This article title's called Fiscal Waste? Priceless came to me by chance from others produced by a man called Steven L. Schooner who is the co-director of the government procurement law program at the George Washington University Law School. Hmm. What's on his mind?
The story (which is true as far as I could determine) goes something like this: The famous credit cards or "charge cards" are issued to 300,000 government employees. The count has been (in 2000) up to more than 700,000. Lately, the cost limit on each of these cards has been expanded to a quarter of a million dollars. Does the recent Katrina have anything to do with this one? Hah. We all love to help each other out. Watch out for this general trend. I wrote in my last blog that we're expecting a hurricane here too - ya know - the ones that don't make the news. Do the math folks. Mine was a much larger figure than the politicians came up with - about $200 billion is what some have admitted to. Does anyone besides me have a problem with this show? Guaranteed, it should. Both you and I pay for these "little" items. Here is that writing! Check it out folks.
