This is Boo Boo. (My wife's name for him: Lil' Bit) Boo Boo is four years old although he doesn't look a day older than six months. He came to us via the Hawaii Humane Society. Boo Boo was said to have had a hard start in life - whatever that means. No details were forthcoming. He is a neutered (ouch) poi cat. In Hawaii we call anything of a mixed breed a "poi" this or that.
The HHS has a confinement and display area for eligibly adoptable cats called the Cat House (yeah really). When we arrived the cats, by nature, were mostly asleep. Incredibly and inexorably, there was this one little guy who could easily curl up and fall asleep in my two hands standing on his two little hind legs arms poked through the mesh of his cage and waving like Robot in the old Lost In Space television series and crying wee wee wee. (Translation: Take me home. I love you. I don't want to be here. I don't want to be euthanized.) So we took him home. Who couldn't love Boo Boo? He likes to sit in my wife's lap.
Boo Boo has a Christmas story. He was about 9 months for his first Christmas. He immediately fell in love with the idea of a tree in the house that he could climb and play with. On Christmas morning when we got up - there was little Boo Boo under the tree with all of our beanie baby cats. He had dragged them all down the stairs and placed them under the tree during the night. What a feat, as he wasn't much bigger than the beanie babies.
