When we bought our current house things were great for awhile. Much to do when one purchases a new home. But something was missing. I've had pets throughout my life and now I didn't. Something had to be done.

It was October of 1997. We're so-called DINK's (double income no kids) and just needed a little something to love - hopefully requited.

To be brutally honest about this last respect: A cat really isn't the best option here. But living where we live, in Waipahu, and not having any enclosure mechanism on our property - a cat was the obvious choice. Our cats (see Boo Boo's story)  have many tasty available options: The run of a large house plus the enviable and  tantalizingly irresistible acreage that is our "backyard" full of birds lizards and butterflies - one day, prospectively, to become a golf course. In a words - CAT HEAVEN.

Yogi came to us courtesy of the Hawaii Human Society.

Yogi (by my wife Missie or Miss Kittie) is the alpha cat. Rules the roost but will just barely tolerate Boo Boo. Somewhat of a nuisance in her eyes. Likes to sit in my lap.
