NATO's Possible New Leader - A Women Warrior

Norwegian Defense Minister Kristin Krohn Devold is in the top tier of candidates to succeed current NATO Secretary-General Lord Robertson when he steps down in December.
Young, vibrant and more importantly, female, Devold is known for laying out a new strategic version for NATO as well as coming from Norway, a country with a strong Atlantist orientation in it's defense and foreign affairs as well as a non-member of the EU. This is a plus in the eyes of many at the Pentagon but could prove a liability with countries like France and Belgium, which seem intent on sowing yet more discord in the Alliance with their attempts to create an all-European defense force.
Putting all that aside it's a truly remarkable event that a women is being seriously considered for the top job in the most powerful military alliance the world has ever known. What's more remarkable is that she is being supported in this quest by the United States and that her sex is not seen as a liability, but a plus. The current crop of tired leftist feminists will surely be screaming about this women being co-opted by 'patriarchal and militaristic values' but the fact remains that this is a shining example of the true goal of feminism. Namely, allowing women to advance and compete in a level playing field with men.
