Dumb Lawsuit of the Week

I thought for sure I was going to have to write about an attendee of Siegfried and Roy's suing for "trauma" related to the attack on Roy by the angry tiger. Instead today word comes down that the NFL is being sued by the parents of a girl paralyzed in an automobile wreck by a drunken football fan.
Yes, now the NFL is ultimately responsible for the behavior of the fans who attend football games at stadiums. With this reasoning I guess the NBA, WNBA, NHL and other sports leagues will also take on a new role as nannies to their fans. Maybe they can also be held responsible for not only their fan's drinking but also for what they eat and what they wear.
I hate football and never attend football games, even UW games, but I'm opposed to these types of lawsuits because as tragic as the circumstances are, the fault lies with the drunken driver and not with the stadium or team owners or the league.
You cannot buy beer after the 3rd quarter at the stadium and you can only buy two beers at a time, those seem like reasonable safeguards to me. What would the family want? No doubt for beer to be banned entirely and I'm sure they can count on neo-prohibitionist MADD to be right there with them.

No, once again the no-responsibility nation is showing its true colors. Remember, when you do something wrong in the US you can always find someone else to blame it on.
