Us-Israel vs. Everyone Else
Like I said was going to happen earlier, this week the US did veto a UN resolution condemning Israel but instead of condemning Israel for bombing a Syrian terrorist training camp this resolution condemned Israel for building it's so-called "border fence", which is designed to make the establishment of a Palestinian state so difficult it will be virtually impossible. The US has stated previously that the border fence is a "problem" and yet it vetoed a resolution condemning the problem because the resolution didn't contain the usual "even-handedness" the US demands, which is diplomatic code for "If you're going to condemn Israel you have to also condemn its enemies, like Islamic Jihad etc..." So the vote was 9 for and 1 against with 4 abstaining. Once again the US has used its veto power on the Security Council at the bidding of Israel's government and not in the long-term interests of the United States.
And today's NY Times has a cautionary tale for those who dare to question the United States' unquestioning fealty and loyalty to the cause of Israeli "security". William Safire, who doesn't even bother to hide the fact that he's an informant for the Mossad, goes to town on Howard Dean for his comment that the US shouldn't be "taking sides" in the Israel-Palestinian conflict. "Heresy!!" screams Safire, of course we should he states, and after a 2-week drubbing in his column Dean has backtracked, joining the rest of the American political intelligencia that worship at the altar of "Though shall not criticize Israel."
Safire is an avowed Republican and supporter of George Bush so it's curious that Dean gives a rat's-ass what he says anyway. After all, Dean is married to a Jewish women and is raising his kids as Jews, but Safire exists for one main purpose and that is to keep in-line those that dare to question the Washington-Tel Aviv axis. A self-appointed "guardian" of all things pro-Israel Safire soars on the clouds like the vengeful Jewish hawk he is, his beady eyes fixed on those below, always searching, always watching for those who deviate from the party line.
