The South Beach Diet Day 20
Yesterday I ate breakfast all day. Glenn and I went to breakfast at Julia's in Wallingford and they surprisingly had a "carb counter" plate which featured an egg-white omelette with salmon, chives and cream cheese with black beans and some ham. I substituted mozzarella for the cream cheese, threw in some salsa and it was tasty. For dinner I made another salmon omelette with roasted vegetables and a slice of turkey ham. Snacks were mainly nuts, cashews and pistachios for me.
I felt good but hungry and I can safely say that was because I had gone off the diet Saturday and eaten a shitload of ugly, bad, nasty carbs courtesy of the Cheesecake Factory. I'd suggest to everyone that if they want to go off for one day they make sure they go RIGHT back on immediately the next. If you don't think you can then do not go off because your body slips so easily back into the carb starving mode, and it sucks to go through it again, even for just a little while.
Another trick with this diet is to snack, count out pistachios and cashews and eat those, along with the celery and Laughing Cow cheese. Do NOT let yourself get hungry, you're not supposed to on this diet. Exercise as well and enjoy tea, if I feel empty then I always have a cup of herbal or black tea with Splenda and that fills me up.
