Being Kosher is Tough
... as I'm finding out.
So far today I've boiled numerous pots of water to kasher silverware and other items that can be kashered. I've emptied our kitchen of all items containing yeast and/or other leavening agents. I've cleaned out all the drawers and removed all plates and cups that are ceramic and I've poured boiling water over the counters and on the floor. I also set the oven to self-clean and now can't figure out how to get it unlocked!
Now I have to put the new dishes in the cupboards and bring my breadish items to my friend Laura, a non-jew, and then we'll be set for Passover tomorrow.
