Why Do They Hate Us?
Maybe the question should be "Why are Arabs so irrational and angry? Why do they blame the problems of 300 million Arabs on 5 million Jews living in a nation the size of Connecticut? Why do they put up with corrupt and loathsome leaders who have done nothing for their people other than steal their money? Why does the Arab world, by every measurable standard of living, lag behind every other region of the world, including sub-Saharan Africa?"
These are questions I'd like the Arabs to answer. The responsibility for their terrible situation lies not with the Jews in Israel nor with the Americans. The responsibility is of their own making. They disenfranchise 50% of their populations with ridiculous laws limiting how women can lead their lives and then they wonder why they're still stuck in the middle ages! Arabs involve Islam, a religion which demands total and complete obedience to its principles, in every area of life including government and then they blame the West for the fact that they're not advancing!
"Once we ruled the world" the Arabs will say, "Our Islamic empire stretched from Baghdad to El-Andalus and we were tolerant and giving people." Yes this is true but what's happened since? We have an Arab world seething with resentment at its own impotence in the face of crisis. An Arab world that has been happy to condemn the Palestinians to squalid refugee camps for the past 50 years and pay lip service to Palestinian rights but yet will not give the Palestinians amongst them citizenship nor education nor the right to work. They prefer to use the Palestinians as emergency relief valves to allow their populations to blow off steam before trouble really starts. Does anyone think the Arabs really want the Palestinian issue solved? If it were who then would they have to blame for their problems?
The real issue is that the Arabs always saw the Jews as weak, pathetic creatures they could kick around when they felt like it. A little pogrom every now and then would keep the Jews in their place, after all, Jews and Christians are both sub-people compared to Muslims. Now that the Jews have kicked Arab ass repeatedly the Arabs are a bit miffed. These Jews, who once knew their places, are no longer so subservient and docile, and the Arabs don't like it one bit.
But really what can they do? Parade around in the streets and scream "Death to Israel, death to America?" We've heard it all before. Their hands are tied and until Arabs begin the long and painful process of assigning real blame for their sorry lot in life they'll continue to sink, their heads slipping slowly under the rising waters of modernization.
