CD Purge
The tansu chest the Good Doc and I ordered back in March showed up today. It was bigger than I expected but with some quick re-arranging in the Versaille room I got it in OK.

Wrong on so many levels
Then came the next task, unpacking and putting into the chest the more than 1,500 CDs that my boyfriend and I own between us. I started with mine, which were maybe 10% of the total, and then began on his. It's amazing how different people's musical tastes are and you really have no idea until you unpack and merge two CD collections.
My CDs consists of lots of imported trance, techno and hard house compilations and DJ mixes (Ministry of Sound, Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyke, Sasha, Digweed, Cream, The Gallery etc...) Rage Against the Machine, Shaun Colvin and Joni Mitchell, the Color Purple Soundtrack, Sarah McLaughlin, old Donna Summer, Sylvester, Sister Sledge, Ice Cube, Li'l Kim, Public Enemy, Missy Elliot and Simon and Garfunkel.
My boyfriend had so many duplicates of things and a huge number of CDs still wrapped in plastic. There was a a strange over-emphasis on circuit-party CDs and Cher. In addition he had a huge number of 80's music compilations. He did have some stuff I liked, like Chaka Khan and some cool Budda Bar compilations.
Well, I remedied that. A big bag of CDs is sitting here waiting to be sold to the used records/CD store. He may be a bit peeved but I'm doing him a favor, no gay man should ever own that many Masterbeat and Cher CDs, look at me, I own NONE and now neither does he.
