HDTV
The Good Doc had an HDTV before he met me, and it traveled from Seattle with us to San Francisco, yet it's HDTV capabilities were never utilized.

I couldn't figure out why we couldn't get HDTV stations on cable, despite having the capability, until a friend down here for our party informed me that we needed an HDTV-capable cable box. So I called and one was delivered, and now we have the HDTV stations.
So what's the big deal? I've heard that HDTV was as big a shift as the one from black and white to color, but that is FAR overstated. Sure it's a bit crisper and brighter but honestly I'm not all that hyped over it, and there aren't many stations broadcasting in HDTV.
I know everyone is all crazy over this shit but it seems to me like it's a racket for the electronics companies to sell more stuff, and for the government to rake in the funds from auctioning off HDTV licenses. 'Cause right now I ain't seeing the $3,000+ difference you're promised when you spend that much more on a new HDTV.
