Return to India
I go back Oct 30 - Nov 20. I'm not sure how I feel. My company sprang for business-class this time so that will sure make the trip shorter. And I'll not be flying the ever-cursed Lufthansa again, thank G-d.
Still, it's a long trip and I'm not sure I'm so psyched. When I was a whipper-snapper and traveling to places like London all the time it seemed the height of glamour, Granted, India isn't London but it's got some cool things going for it.
Still, now that I've crossed the big 3-0 landmark it seems I want to stay closer to home more and more. I've got house and kids on my mind, and four years ago I never would have imagined it.
Sidenote: I don't know what happened to my old friend Robert West from Seattle, but tonight I was looking at a picture of us at Area 1 and I remembered just how much I love that boy. It wasn't the nights together, exploring each other's mouths, dancing with our shirts off, taking pills and NEVER having sex (with each other anyway). It was that deep down I knew Robert was a good guy and yet like so many others he went down the crystal road.
Wherever he is I hope he's doing well, playing baseball and watching ESPN. I miss you Rob.
