Well, poor Taylor is missing is the first day of school this year.
The little guy woke up vomiting Sunday and did that off and on all day. Last night he was awake quite a few times, saying "things are going too fast". He does that every once in a while. He says he's not feeling sick anymore, but we are still noticing a low grade temp.
It was a quiet, soggy weekend. The paper came out with a comment that we should be moving into a drier spell now, with chances of rain being in the 40 percent range rather than the 60 percent range it's been in all summer. I read that during our Sunday afternoon shower and thunderstorm.
We went to the dump on Saturday. Yes, there's a dump down the road. You can take your household garbage and recyclables there and dump it. There is no fee, no pass to get. Just drive in and put your stuff in the right dumpsters.
We went to the dump because our garbage pickup guy didn't show up. He's supposed to come Thursday. By Saturday we still had our garbage and hadn't heard from him. We had to take an old TV to the dump anyway, so we took all our garbage. The garbage guy rang our doorbell about 10 minutes after we got back and gave us his sad story about why he's been a miserable garbage guy the last few weeks. Whatever.
While at the dump, I think I stepped in some sort of anthill. I was throwing plastics into the right dumpster and when I was done, I got back into the car and noticed this terrible stinging sensation on my ankle. I reached down to wipe away whatever it was, and my entire foot was crawling with little tiny ants. I feel lucky they didn't get further up my leg. I have a ring of hard, knot-like bites all around that ankle.
