I've been having the guys make their own sandwiches for their lunches. I don't mind handling the other items...a piece of fruit or vegetable and a crunchy or sweet thing like pretzels or a moon pie. But really, I just despise lunchmeat. I don't like handling it and I pretty much don't eat it. Especially turkey lunchmeat. I just can't get over the slimy, coldness of it all.
So last night Taylor made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. This morning I came downstairs and pulled their sandwiches out of the fridge and packed their lunches. Then I saw this other sandwich sitting on the counter. Taylor was eating breakfast, so I was wondering what the deal was.
"Taylor, what's up with this sandwich?"
"It's rotten."
"Whaddaya mean it's rotten? It's peanut butter...peanut butter doesn't get rotten."
"I didn't know how to close the sandwich bag and it got rotten so Dad and I had to make a new one."
Yesterday I watched the old movie "Midnight Cowboy". Never saw it before. You know it was rated X when it came out in the 60s. Now it's R. The scenes that caused it to be rated X then are basically the kinds of things we see on network television now. Sad.
And what a sad movie. I can't believe there were so many fans of this flick when it came out. Jon Voight plays a loser kid from Texas that goes to the New York to be a gigolo. He ends up friends with an even bigger loser played by Dustin Hoffman. I couldn't wait for it to end!
