You meet some interesting people in grocery stores sometimes.  Yesterday I met one of those interesting people.  I rounded the corner to the baking aisle and there he was, shaking boxes of powdered milk and listening intently.

I considered mentioning that they don't put prizes in powdered milk, but that he might have some luck in the cereal aisle.  But instead, I just paused next to him and smiled.

He said "you'll never believe what I use it for". I said "now you HAVE to tell me".

He said he grows bugs. The kinds aquarists use to feed their fish. He sells them to aquarium stores.  He usually grows the bugs in flour but since he's moved here, that hasn't worked. He's not sure why.  I said "What about cornmeal"?(thinking to myself...all but one box of cornmeal I've bought since I moved here came with its own bugs)

He said "Too coarse. That's why I'm thinking of powdered milk. But this box sounds really grainy and coarse."  I mentioned how expensive powdered milk is. He said he'd mix it with corn starch, so that should cut costs.

I wished him luck.
