Last night it suddenly got real cloudy and thundery and we got 2 1/4 inches of rain dumped on us. Some pretty good lightning too. I'm kind of wondering if anything got hit. There was one lightning strike that sounded very close and very loud.
Soya is struggling with the new couch and loveseat. They are higher than the other and she can't seem to get up. She has gotten so stiff and weak in the back legs that she can't really push herself up. So she's been doing a lot of wandering around trying to get comfortable. Finally I took the tv trays off the old cloth couch in the music room and set up her blankies and couple old pillows on it. She hasn't used it a lot, but I think she will when we are gone. At least, we found her there when we came home from church yesterday. I feel bad for her, but I was wondering what I could do to keep the new couch dog hair free. Leather is easy to clean...just use a feather duster to get the hair off. But you have to use a damp cloth to get the dried drool off. And of course the dusty footprints. So I guess the guilt over her not being able to get up there won't kill me.
I'm anxiously checking Anita's blog, And Baby Makes Seven. I'm thinking that new kid must be here. There have been no more posts since Saturday when she said they were going to the hospital. I'm hoping her husband, Dave, could at least post in the comment section when the kid is born.
