Steve Knight, of Knightopia, has linked to my Benchcraft story. Thanks Steve, for doing your bit to boost the google rating. I just don't think that any company that refuses to honor their warranties should be patronized.
Well, I've completed the classroom portion for the Commercial Driver's License. I did pass the practice test they gave at the end, but only skimmed by. The minimum score is 80%. I scored 86. So 3 more questions and I woulda flunked. The rest of the guys in the class scored in the 90s. But then the instructor reminded me that they've had the classroom portion before. And I didn't study the first night. I was just too fried.
So now I need to do some studying, get the physical and drug test, and set an appointment with the DMV to take the written exam. After I pass that, I start 10 hours behind the wheel.
That's where I think things could get dicey. I like the instructor I had for the classroom. And she will probably be it for behind-the-wheel. I understand everything she says, despite her rather heavy southern accent. However, she'd prefer to have 3 or 4 students at a time. If that happens, I'll only get a little over 2 hours actually behind the wheel. I think I'd rather have a LOT more time actually practicing driving.
We'll have to see how this all works out. I still don't really picture myself as a bus driver. But nothing seems to be really telling me NOT to be, so I'm going ahead for now.
