And so it begins...it started raining this morning at about 6:45 and, according to weather forcasters, may not stop until Sunday...or ever. Bonnie and Charlie are headed up this way from Georgia and Florida.  But really? They don't know. We are just told to expect anywhere from 2-4 inches of rain.

I haven't mentioned our hummingbird situation.  Last week I finally started getting a couple regular visitors...a pair...to my feeder. This got my Mom excited, so she rushed out and bought a second feeder. So now we have feeders stationed on either side of the office window.  Yesterday there were 3 pretty regular diners.

They are ruby-throated hummers, 2 females and one male so far. The females were more regular at first, but now I see the male is out there already this morning. Thing is...they are kind of scary.

You know dragonflies? The loud buzzing they make when they go by you?  They've got nothin' on hummingbirds. Those things fly like little tiny B-52s. And if you get too close, they'll buzz you. Close. Like they can make the hair stand up on your arms.  And of course, you're constantly mindful of that needle-nose beak they have....
