We had a very nice weekend.  I consider a weekend to be a success if there is the right mix of movies, napping and cooking.

Saturday Mom and I went to see Princess Diaries 2.  Cute, cute movie!  Of course, I'd enjoy anything with Julie Andrews in it.

Saturday afternoon I started in on my birthday cake. I've had a recipe for a Coconut Cake sitting here for almost 3 years and never got around to making it.  I've always figured I'd be the only one to eat and that would just be a waste. So since I had Mom here, and it was my birthday, what better time?  I baked the cake Saturday and made the 7-minute frosting and frosted it Sunday. It was wonderful!  I must say, however, that the internet came in handy with the frosting recipe. My page out of Cooking Light called for 1 cup of sugar with 1/4 Tablespoon of water. Boil that. Yeah right! So I googled it and there it was...it had been corrected to be 1 Cup sugar, 1/4 CUP water.  The cake turned out great. I'm having a piece for breakfast right now.

Sunday it rained pretty much all day. That was good for us.  We ended up with about 1 1/2 inches of rain. Mom spent all afternoon making Moussaka. Tony came for supper and Cassie and Peggy came for cake afterwards.

Somewhere this weekend we took time to watch Road to Morocco. Simply delightful! Mensa Boy said we'd seen it before, but of course I don't remember.  Some of the guys also watched Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, which does nothing for me. I wrote the Cub Scout newsletter.
