Still rather un-Christmas-y around here, but maybe that will change once I get some gifts wrapped. They are starting to show up in droves. I already have one I'll need to return. I bought it from Amazon and when Mensa Boy saw the same kind of gift, but a different model, he thought the other model was just way too cool. So I'll run out and pick up the other model and return the one I bought from Amazon.

I've been playing with an MP3 player a friend bought for her daughter. The family doesn't have high-speed internet or an up-to-date computter yet, so to download music to it would be daunting. They will get their internet squared away in January, so for now I'm using my Napster account (you can have up to 3 players) to put some "starter" music on it. They will have Napster set up too, so that will be fun. We can exchange playlists.

Did you know kids nowadays are hooked on The Beatles, Carole King and CCR? Yup. And others. I've had fun thinking up some of the BETTER songs from the 60s and 70s (there was a lot of baaaaad music then..."Kung Fu Fighting?") and loading them onto the player. Taylor is not amused by the fact that I know all the words to Jim Croce's "Roller Derby Queen." I'm also scoping out some Christina Aguilera, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jessica Simpson (she has a FANTASTIC version of "These Boots are Made for Walkin'") and putting some of those on there. I already have one album on there that I'm going to take back off...it's the Pussycat Dolls. Sheesh...their song "Beep" about makes my heart stop when I think of a 14 year-old listening to it.

The main thing is...thank goodness for Jazzercise. The music is so up-to-date that I have a fairly good handle on what's playing nowadays. I think I'm listening to more popular music now than I did when I was a kid!
