GAH... enough of politics. I have been searching and searching for how to make my categories, stories, and links to other web sites actually show up in my menu frame.

to use the Radio tool to do this.... While I have a smattering of experience in raw HTML, and I know that XML is more powerful, and more current, that is the extent of my understanding of it.
The worst thing is not having a clue as to where to find out the answer to such a simple question.
To be honest, the help files are hardly helpful as they seem to assume that you already know how it works.
And, this has always been my criticism of computer documentation.
