Allen L Roland's Radio Weblog
My ongoing theme is always the truth , as I see it , and the exposure of lies, deception and manipulation wherever they exist. I remain firmly convinced that the world can no longer resist its innate urge to unite and co-operate with one another and we are very close to the point where war can no longer be an option if this transformation is to occur. ALLEN ROLAND'S
SUNDAY REFLECTIONS 10/12/03

THE GAME IS UP ~
BENEATH THE SPIN AND DECEPTION ~ ALL IS
NOT WELL ~ AND THIS WASN'T A GOOD IDEA !

Today's Iraqi true update besides the growing
killed and wounded ~

Iraqi Shia leader promises new govt:

In yet another sign from the Iraqi people that they want the Americans out,
a prominent Shi'ite leader has said he has formed a new government
rejecting the American occupation.

Shiite Leader Forms Shadow Cabinet:

Hundreds of Iraqis took to the streets of this Shiite holy city Saturday, October 11,
in support for a shadow cabinet formed a day earlier by anti-U.S. firebrand

Islamic nations tell U.S. to leave Iraq:

Muslim nations have demanded "eviction of all foreign forces from Iraq" at the start
of a summit in Malaysia with only Turkey defending plans to deploy its
troops alongside the U.S.-led alliance.

Iraqis protest at US ' terrorism':

Up to 10,000 Iraqi Shias have taken to the streets of a Baghdad suburb to denounce

US told to avoid main Shia area in Baghdad:

A powerful Shia Muslim movement warned US troops on Friday not to enter
Baghdad's largest Shia neighbourhood after a gun battle there on Thursday
night killed two US soldiers and two Iraqis.

Things are not going well in Iraq but the Bush Administration led by CEO Cheney
continue to be in denial ~ blaming critics and the United Nations for their own
go-it-alone policy and arrogant pre-emptive strategy .

As the Washington Post reported yesterday regarding
Cheney's forceful speech on Friday ~ defending the
war and occupation; " Cheney barely made mention of the
hardships in Iraq. Instead he took aim at Democrats and
foreign leaders such as French president Jacques Chirac
and U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, who have raised
objections to U.S. ' Unilateralism ' ."

It should be becoming quite obvious that the driving force
behind this war , behind the false information (regarding
Iraq obtaining African Uranium) in the President's state
of the Union speech , behind Exec Order #13303 ( which
gives total control of Iraqi oil production to the U.S. ) ,
behind the recent retaliatory Administration leak
exposing the undercover CIA agent (who was the wife of
the official who publically refuted the State of The Union
mis-information ) is none other than Dick Cheney.

And about those unfound Weapons of Mass Destruction
which we continue to search for ~ it's shameless denial
and can only be compared to O.J. still looking for Nicole's killer.

Jay Bookman of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said it
perfectly yesterday ~
" Fortunately, there are other ways to gauge the decision-making process in the
Bush administration. The most obvious proof that Bush officials hyped and distorted
evidence about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction in the past is that they continue
to hype and distort that evidence today, with a shamelessness that is stunning. "

The game is up and it's time to face reality ~

The Bush Administration's fall P.R offensive is rapidly
becoming not only offensive but also nauseous and repulsive ~ and here's one of
the worse examples.

From COUNTERSPIN CENTRAL 10/11/03

I've seen in a while. I was tipped off by the folks at American Politics Journal about
the appalling possibility that someone wrote a letter about how wonderful things are
in Iraq, near Kirkuk, and signed several soldiers' names to the letter without them
approving it, or their knowledge.

Turns out the astroturf letter part is true. Someone is sending the exact same letter to
different newspapers across the country...only each letter is "signed" by a different
soldier living in that paper's area of circulation. A blatant propaganda ploy.
To see for yourself, do the following:

1) Do a google search for the phrase: "I have been serving in Iraq for over five months now"

2) This unit is serving near Kirkuk...the heart of Kurdish territory in Iraq. It would be
unsurprising if the local population were very pleased to have U.S. troops there.
Ironically, however, at least one of the soldiers who "signed" the letter
was injured in a booby-trap bomb explosion just recently.

The Scam was confirmed by the Gannett News service.  Supposedly the reporter
interviewed a number of the soldiers who "wrote" the letters, and finds
that none of them actually signed it.

Here's the link on this story ~
ever, we must demand it from our leaders and settle
for nothing less.
I leave you with this quote from H.L.Menchen :

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace
in a continual state of alarm ( and hence clamorous to be
led to safety ) by menacing them with an endless series
of hobgoblins ~ all of them imaginary .
