IT'S STILL ALL ABOUT LOVE

A few years ago I was interviewed by the CBS-TV affiliate in San Francisco on the meaning of the Near-death experience. I explained that the near death experience is a state of love and soul consciousness that lies beyond our present state of ego consciousness. I identify this state of consciousness as the long sought for Unified Field ~ a psychic energy field of love and soul consciousness which lies not only beyond time and space but also beneath our deepest fears. The principle property of this field of love is the universal urge to unite which permeates all living matter ~ from molecules to Galaxies.
Most NDE's experience this state of consciousness as an incredible feeling of light and love and when they recover ~ they usually feel a profound need to be in service.
During my intervew I was asked to comment on film footage of a Near-Death experiencer named Terry Meyers ~ who had apparently died for a short period of time of heart failure and felt she had a near death experience.
A few days later CBS received this note from Terry Meyers;
Eight years ago I has a spiritual rebirth. A virus literally destroyed my heart in a matter of four days. While at the hospital, when my heart stopped, I had a near-death experience.
After coming back to life, I was overwhelmed with an intense feeling of joy and love. Everything became clear to me ~ my purpose in life and why this happened to me. I fully understood how everything in the universe is evolved around love and my deep need to be part of it ~ and today my desire to help others is driven by this passion !
Dr Allen L Roland's television interview validated all the feelings I had experienced like no one else has been able to do.
It is though he had looked into my soul and mind and was speaking my thoughts.
To me it was another confirmation that I am talking and writing about a universal truth ~ that everyone knows at a deep subliminal level .
So imagine my delighted surprise when I recently read Barbra-renee Brighenti's excellent essay ( Has Religion been Highjacked ) ~ in which she mentions my Unified Field of love and soul consciousness and rightfully declares " that the calling card, always, for all religions, all locations, all creeds, has the same one liner: Love ..... Is love the medium and fabric of the universe? Is the medium the message? Are we Love? Is that why perhaps God never left a photo ID? As we look into this apex of the “Other”, are we seeing ourselves? Infinitum? Without end?.... Do we need to truly hit bottom, before our knees hit the ground, in humbleness and humility? That perhaps the Song of God, can only be sung in harmony? "

Has religion been hijacked?

Religion is a codified system of knowledge that transcends location and time. The major religions; Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism, share basic tenants, the first perhaps is how God sees us. Whether as children, friend, the inner or the outer, or the servant, these religions offer instruction given by a benevolent “Other”. The instructions are indicative of who we are and how we are perceived. And this “Other” rarely talks about Himself- thus the variables between the major religions. What a blessing too! If imagination is only determined by our limitation, then our own evolution in maturity, emotional growth and spirituality will of course open the box of beliefs that we hold on so tightly to, and allow our very understanding of God to blossom in our own time. This in itself is evidence of a very creative “Other”. And allows us the needed reference point, whether calling this “Other”: God, or Allah or Avatar or Higher Power, we will be able to grab on to the dialogue in our own limited understanding and still at the same time be correct- for who could say that anyone’s perception is wrong when one talks of a limitless Being ? Thus we all are correct, as the door is always opening.
Cultures, topography, and time have of course added many layers and variations to this evolutionary fabric of spirituality we are weaving- each and every one of us, a slightly different hue, adding to, the overall understanding of a boundless God. This has enriched our lives, it has enriched mine.
When I outgrew my first understanding of Jesus, my cradle religion, I turned to science; Einstein, with the universe in his palms- and through Einstein, I found the Veda’s most beloved book, The Bhagavate Gita, (The Song of God), and found myself traveling to a different, new and challenging face of The Other. Thomas Merton’s introduction to the Gita expanded into Teilhard de Chardin’s theological understanding of quantum physics, and Jung’s work on the unconscious led to Steven Hawking and string theory, which graduated me into the halls of ZaZen, the sitting mediation of the outer/inner worlds, and I guess T.S.Eliot summed it up: “We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
How then do I now know Jesus for the first time?
Perhaps seeing him as the revolutionary he was, and also as the man of peace he was, and working out those two seeming contradictions. And knowing his message: as I have heard Jesus’ message fall from the lips of Krishna on the fields of Kurukshetra, and have conceptualized them in the math of Hawkins and the life of Mohammed, and in the thoughts of Jung. I heard Jesus’ message in the voice of Bhagwan, and the lessons of Allen Roland’s Unified Field theory, and Emoto’s prayer to life, and understood that the fabric of this message is constant, timeless and consistent. Every Master, Teacher and Prophet’s message was the same. As in grade school, the simplest of the lessons, are given to the youngest: Do not Kill, Do Not Steal, Do Not Cheat, they are the boundaries. But work your way up in this reference manual of how God sees us and you will understand the expectations are great-Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself. And the best; Love Thy God above all things. This is the hardest, for who is this God, this apex who does not leave anything but His calling card? And the calling card, always, for all religions, all locations, all creeds, has the same one liner: Love.
Love. New science begins to wonder if this is the underlying force of the Unified Field that Einstein was looking for and that Jung suspected to be the main element in the unconscious collective. Emoto found that it is the essence that unifies crystals in water. Medicine knows that it is a healing force, without it one dies. Morals and ethics and family and community are built on love. Laws are underlined with it. Governments are founded on it, and we all know what it is, abstract, without words, without thought, we know it. If God’s message to all his creations has always been love, if this has been His message thru-out time and local, if this has been His instruction and thus His perception of us, if it is indeed Love, then are we asked to love, love? To let go of fear, to put down the hatchet of ego, the knife of ignorance? Is love the medium and fabric of the universe? Is the medium the message? Are we Love? Is that why perhaps God never left a photo ID? As we look into this apex of the “Other”, are we seeing ourselves? Infinitum? Without end?
Religion is a codified system of knowledge that transcends location and time. We have codified Love, and as if in elementary classes, we go one step higher, one level at a time. Starting with Do Not Kill, we graduate to Love one another. Each step brings us closer, to Love Thy God with Thy whole Heart! If God is love, and we are love, then are we the same? Was Einstein right that God doesn’t play dice.
But, then who has hijacked religion? With the same message, the same teachers, the same Universal Force perceiving us as the same, how did this knowledge, essential to our very fabric, get hijacked? How have the various hues of this beautiful fabric we are weaving, creating, gotten so blood stained? Has the other, who at our deepest level we know to be ourselves, been proven somehow to not be our brother? Has man corrupted his own home? Governments, suckled at the breast of religion, have an Oedipus complex. Different levels of spiritual understanding, once cherished as one would cherish the silence between the notes, is now seen as separate and deviant. Divide and conquer have overwritten the very essence we are made of. Protection of the feeble, the poor, the children, the women, our planet and wildlife, streams and sky, was once understood and known as a gift and an instruction, It has been perverted by those with very little soul development themselves. Rationalization of one’s own power, to be mock kings of a dying world. Demonizing religion and its fundamental inherent laws, like cutting the carpet beneath one’s feet, have left all adrift. Ridicule of one’s soul development has become the reason de farce! God has been used to split hairs, like the Lilliputians argued over splitting an egg. The message has been lost, perverted and ebbed away into a nuclear nightmare. Why? What demon could have pulled us apart, believing that this is mine and that is yours? What ‘chosen ones” fantasies have, against God, science, and our inherent truth have created an angry, revengeful God, that no healthy person could understand, nevertheless justify with blood? Do we need to truly hit bottom, before our knees hit the ground, in humbleness and humility? That perhaps the Song of God, can only be sung in harmony?
