WARNER GEARING UP FOR PRESIDENTIAL BID
I genuinely believe Warner is the Democrats' best shot at winning in 2008 : Former Lt governor Donald S. Beyer
If ever there was an opening for a courageous Democrat to pick up the splintered party banner and coalesce a fragmented Democratic party ~ it is now.
Bush is on the ropes, the Republicans are in disarray, Kerry is history, Hillary carries too much baggage and the party desperately needs a fresh face who can win big, excite the base and carry people with him.
That fresh face is Virginia governor Mark Warner (D) who enjoys 70% popularity in a state that voted for Bush last election and just helped elect Timothy M. Kaine as his successor ~ despite Bush visiting the state on the eve of the election to support Warner's opponent ( The Bush Kiss of Death which many Republicans will attempt to turn their cheek from in next years mid term elections ).
Michael Shear , Washington Post, picks up the drum beat as Warner heads for New Hampshire next week to lay the goundwork for a presidential bid in 2008.

While working feverishly to help elect Timothy M. Kaine as his successor, Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner (D) has been assembling a team to prepare for his own political future, which supporters said is likely to include a bid for the presidency in 2008.
Warner is preparing to hold a final fundraiser as governor at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner next month, but next week he will formally launch his federal political action committee and unveil its Web site, and make his first political trip to New Hampshire, site of the nation's first presidential primary.
There, he will host a luncheon for Democratic activists. . . Former lieutenant governor Donald S. Beyer, a longtime friend who was treasurer for Howard Dean's presidential bid, has agreed to lead Warner's fundraising. "I'm definitely on board," Beyer said in an interview. "I genuinely believe he is the Democrats' best shot at winning in 2008."
