DA MEDICARE CODE
|
The great decider may have to regroup in light of the fact that
75% of seniors find it somewhat and very difficult figuring out his prescription drug benefit Code ( program ) ~ which is, in reality, a massive payoff to the drug companies.
The Center for American Progress lays out the details.

HEALTH CARE -- LAWMAKERS AND SENIORS CALL ON BUSH TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE:
by Judd Legum, Faiz Shakir, Nico Pitney Amanda Terkel and Payson Schwin / UNDER THE RADAR
After Monday, the "cost of the plan rises 1 percent per month for those who are eligible, and it rises at that rate for as long as they wait." While low-income seniors will be able to sign-up for the prescription drug benefit after Monday, President Bush refused to extend the deadline for other seniors because deadlines "help people understand there's finality, and people need to get after it.
But in recent weeks, there has been a "growing rebellion" by lawmakers against Bush on the issue. "I think it's fair and reasonable to eliminate the penalty" for 2006 said Rep. Nancy Johnson (R-CT), who heads the House Ways and Means subcommittee on health.
On Thursday, forty-seven senators, including three Republicans, signed a letter by Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) urging Bush to extend the deadline and lift the penalties. "Senate Finance Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and House Ways and Means Chairman Bill Thomas, R-Calif., indicated last week that they might consider changes once Manday's deadline has passed."
