PERCEPTIONS VS REALITY WITH THE CHENEY/BUSH TEAM
"It's not a matter of what is true that counts but a matter of what is perceived to be true." --Henry Kissinger
The world of Cheney/Rumsfeld/ Bush and Rice is a world of soft perceptions ~ versus hard reality.
The Perception that this is a Bush administration versus the reality that this is a Cheney/Rumsfeld administration and Bush is the oblivious cheerleader for their neocon agenda;
The perception that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction versus the reality that Iraq had none;
The perception that the Cheney/Bush administration had an Iraq exit strategy versus the reality that it never had an exit strategy and always planned for an indefinite occupation ~ regardless of the financial and human cost.
The perception that we are winning the war on terror versus the reality that we are losing it badly;
The perception that we are freeing Iraq versus the reality that we have illegally occupied their country;
The perception that the medicare prescription health care plan was a good deal for seniors versus the reality that it was a good deal for drug companies;
The perception that the economy is healthy versus the reality that the economy, led by the sinking dollar, mounting debt and a cooling housing market is about to sink;
The perception that the recent tax cut continuence is a good deal for Americans versus the reality that it is a good deal for the rich;
The perception that the National guard will protect the Mexican border versus the reality that it is there only to appease Bush's hard right conservative base;
The perception that we are making progress in Iraq versus the reality we are losing ~ the Associated Press is reporting today that the army of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has taken over Amarah, a city in the south of Iraq that British troops left in August;
The perception that the economy is strong with the Dow over 12,000 versus the reality that money is being pumped into the system by the Fed ( E3 ) to create the election year illusion of strength while the market has yet to deal with a severe housing crash in 2007;
The perception that we are at war with Iraq versus the reality that we have illegally occupied Iraq;
And finally the perception that Bush really cares about you and me and what we really feel and think ~ versus the reality that he could care less !
It's time for a change in direction ~ where cold reality trumps soft perceptions.
