Allen L Roland's Radio Weblog
My ongoing theme is always the truth , as I see it , and the exposure of lies, deception and manipulation wherever they exist. I remain firmly convinced that the world can no longer resist its innate urge to unite and co-operate with one another and we are very close to the point where war can no longer be an option if this transformation is to occur. OBAMA SHINES / HILLARY FADES IN LAST DEBATE BEFORE FEB 5TH

The key question asked in last nights final debate before super Tuesday was if Hillary would admit she made a mistake in voting for Bush to use force in Iraq in 2003 ~ she once again avoided a straight answer and lost the debate. America does not want eight more years with the possibility of an entitled president, like George W. Bush, who will not admit to a mistake: Allen L Roland

The debate was fairly even between Obama and Clinton until the subject became Iraq. Obama made the point about hitting the ground being right while Hillary equivocated and hedged her options ~ much like Bill did in the 1990's ~ and do remember this primary pits Obama versus the Clintons.

Obama's answers were pointed, articulate and to the point whereas Hillarys were abstract and usually aimed toward making political points versus answering the question ~ or, in other words, politics as usual.

The key question was when Hillary was asked why she still would not admit she made a mistake when voting for the War resolution Act allowing Bush to use force with Iraq in 2003. Hillary once again would not give a straight answer but Obama won the day when he said the war was a grievous mistake by America which is why he did not support it ~ again making the point about being right versus wrong when judging a candidates record and experience.

In that context, Clinton emphasized that the nation needed a president ready to go to work on "Day One." Obama responded: "Part of the argument that I'm making in this campaign is that it is important to be right on Day One."

As a matter of fact, Hillary Clinton did not even bother to read the National Intelligence Estimate before voting to give George Bush authority to go to war in Iraq. The report raised serious doubts about whether Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

What Obama could have said was ~ Does America want eight more years with an entitled  president, like George W Bush, who will not admit to a mistake?

Obama spoke to the country and Hillary talked to her constituency,
Obama talked of specifics while Hillary talked in generalities, Obama spoke from his heart while Hillary spoke from her head, Obama personally shared his vision while Hillary performed for her followers, Obama let us in and Hillary is still an impenetrable enigma and Obama effused commonality while Hillary projected the air of entitlement.

In essence, Obama glowed and Hillary wilted under the glaring lights of a nationwide TV audience who want to be inspired and not lectured to, who want to be included and not excluded from the process of government and who, above all, want to go forward and not backward.

This would seem to be evidenced by the latest poll from Rasmussen released yesterday showing Clinton with a very narrow three-percentage point lead over Obama, 43% to 40% versus a 12 % lead two weeks ago. The survey was conducted two days ago, Tuesday, January 29, 2008, in the hours immediately following Florida's Presidential Primary and before John Edwards dropped out of the race ~ which would add another 3 to 4 % to the Obama total.

The Obama surge is for real and last night America clearly saw a shining agent of change in Barack Obama versus a fading agent of the status quo in Hillary Clinton.
