NINE BLUNDERS OF THE WORLD
Mahatma Gandhi's famous seven blunders of the world, which he shared with his grandson Arun, on their final day together before Gandhi was assassinated, are actually nine with an addition by both Arun and myself: Allen L Roland
Here is a list of the seven blunders of the world which Mahatma Gandhi gave to his grandson Arun Gandhi, written on a piece of paper, on their final day together, not too long before his assassination.
This list grew from Gandhi's search for the roots of violence. He called these acts of passive violence. Preventing these is the best way to prevent oneself or one's society from reaching a point of violence.
To the original list of seven, Arun Gandhi added an eighth blunder, rights without responsibilities and I, in honor of the 60th anniversary of Gandhi's death add a ninth, Power without Benevolence ~ which has been much in evidence with the Cheney/Bush administration.
Actually, the Bush administration has made all nine of these blunders.
Here is Gandhi's original list of seven with the additions;
.1. Wealth without work
2. Pleasure without conscience
3. Knowledge without character
4. Commerce without morality
5. Science without humanity
6. Worship without sacrifice
7. Politics without principle
8. Rights without Responsibilities ( Arun Gandhi )
9. Power without Benevolence ( Allen L Roland )
