THE TORCH OBAMA MUST CARRY IS HUMAN RIGHTS

Note how similar the 60th Anniversary Human Rights logo is to the color of the robes of the Dalai Lama ~ although this was unintentional.
This week marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states unequivocally that no one shall be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment. Obama must carry and enforce this flaming torch in order to restore America's shattered image as well as respect throughout the world: Allen L Roland
In 1948, when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was proclaimed by the United Nations, the world had just emerged from the devastation of World War II. Now in 2008, sixty years later, the world and the United States is entering a time of major change ~ and Barack Obama must lead this change by making the flaming torch of human rights the driving force and priority of his administration.
It must start with the long unresolved Palestinian situation and if that can be successfully resolved ~ the others will be considerably easier.
Actually, on a larger scale, human rights is the leading edge of a planetary shift of consciousness from ego to soul consciousness and the worldwide realization that we are all interdependent and connected to a Unified Field ~ whose principle property is the universal urge to unite.
There are 30 articles in this declaration and here are the first ten ~
Article 1 All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
Article 2 Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.
Article 3
Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
Article 4
No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.
Article 5
No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
Article 6
Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.
Article 7
All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.
Article 8
Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law.
Article 9
No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.
Article 10
Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him.
Please note how many of these first ten articles have been violated by the Bush/Cheney administration under the false flag of the War On Terror and in particular, Article 5 ~
No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ~ contact the Transition Team. Let Obama know that restoring America's place in the world as a nation that stands up for human rights must be a top priority, and that the new administration should act swiftly to fix U.S. interrogation and detention policies. No torture. No exceptions.
