Allen L Roland's Radio Weblog
My ongoing theme is always the truth , as I see it , and the exposure of lies, deception and manipulation wherever they exist. I remain firmly convinced that the world can no longer resist its innate urge to unite and co-operate with one another and we are very close to the point where war can no longer be an option if this transformation is to occur. IT'S TIME TO GO, BLAGO

In politics, as in life, there is a time to know when to let go, step down and move on and when to make a rightful stand. Governor Blagojevich of Chicago has yet to learn that lesson and may soon have it forced upon him. Blind ambition always leads to moral blindness which eventually leads to humiliation and disgrace. It's time to go, Blago: Allen L Roland

As Henry Kissinger once said " Power is the absolute aphrodisiac " and once you've tasted it, it's hard to let go of it. Ask any number of athletes, movie stars and politicians who are still convinced they are indispensable when their owners, movie companies or constituents know they have long since outlived their usefulness.

Governor Blagojevich of Chicago is in the same boat. In a Chicago Tribune poll, Blagojevich notched "the lowest ratings ever recorded for an elected politician in nearly three decades of Tribune polls."
" The results show the state's first Democratic governor in a quarter-century has lost the confidence of voters in his own party. Moreover, the backing of one of his strongest voting blocs--African-Americans--appears to be falling away.

Overall, the survey of 500 registered likely voters conducted at the end of last week showed a mere 10 percent said they wanted Blagojevich re-elected in 2010, while three-fourths said they didn't want him back for a third term." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/23/blagojevichs-bad-day_n_137378.html

Blagojevich's job approval rating was a dismal 13% ~ five percentage points lower than that of President Bush ~ and his disapproval rating was 71%.

The Blago case is increasingly bad news for Rahm Emanuel and, as such, reflects on Obama. It must be delt with immediately before it becomes another misuse of power versus a distraction for the incoming Obama administration. As such, the president-elect will release a report Tuesday of internal investigation into his staff's contact with the Illinois governor ~ and it better be convincing.

So what gives with Blago ? It's all about power and entitlement. His ego can't let go because Blago, like Bush, is deathly afraid of failure and will hold his ground until he is literally dragged out of office by either impeachment, public outcry or he becomes such an embarrassment to the incoming Obama Presidency that he is given the time-honored Chicago solution ~ leave or be politically humiliated and eliminated.

Blind ambition always lead to moral blindness which eventually leads to humiliation and disgrace. It's time to go, Blago !
