CBS BLOWS WHISTLE ON ISRAELI APARTHEID
Last night CBS's 60 Minutes came as close as the main stream press has ever done in rightfully labeling Israel's illegal West Bank settlements as Apartheid while concluding that the 'Two-State' solution, under the present ground conditions, is all but impossible : Allen L Roland
First, the definition of Apartheid: A policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race or nationality.
Second, the cost of Apartheid: A recent report reveals that half of the Palestinian children wounded during the recent 23 day illegal Israel attacks on Gaza have been permanently disabled. The report conducted by the Algerian Authority for Developing Health and Research also says that 50 percent of the children wounded are now classified as disabled.
According to the UN figures, 460 Palestinian children were killed and 1,855 others were wounded during the recent Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. Another word for these atrocities could certainly be called ethnic cleansing.
The study, which is based on the findings of an Algerian media team in Gaza, also found that almost 800,000 Palestinian children suffer from mental health disorders caused by the Israeli offensive on Gaza. http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=83735&;sectionid=351020202
Third, the effect of Apartheid: Bob Simon, CBS 60 Minutes, offered a thirteen minute must see interview last night which honestly and vividly points out the effects of Israel's illegal apartheid on the occupied Palestinians and the decreasing chances for a two-state solution.
Excerpt: " The problem is, even before Israel invaded Gaza, a growing number of Israelis and Palestinians had concluded that peace between them was no longer possible, that history had passed it by. For peace to have a chance, Israel would have to withdraw from the West Bank, which would then become the Palestinian state.... It’s known as the "two-state" solution. But, while negotiations have been going on for 15 years, hundreds of thousands of Jewish settlers have moved in to occupy the West Bank. Palestinians say they can't have a state with Israeli settlers all over it, which the settlers say is precisely the idea."
