IS AMERICA READY FOR THE TRUTH ?
Almost 50% of Obama's proposed discretionary budget is going to Defense spending. This is absurd ~ America's War ON Terror has become, as the rest of the world already knows, the War OF Terror and Empire building . Obama must change it to a War OF Peace and cooperation and rapidly shrink the bloated defense budget before we go bankrupt. Only Ron Paul is speaking this truth to America: Allen L Roland
The economic truth, that Obama has yet publicly owned, is that the American financial system is all but insolvent and that we are already in the beginning stages of an L shaped Depression ~ that may take years to recover from. This is now a worldwide depression whereas gross domestic product in the U.S. fell by about 6% in the fourth quarter of 2008, but it fell by 6% in the euro zone, 8% in Germany, 12% in Japan, 16% in Singapore and 20% in South Korea.
By the middle of 2009, World industrial output, according to the World Bank, could be as much as 15% lower than 2008, while trade may record the biggest decline in 80 years.
Our consumption and credit driven economy has come to a screeching halt and people are now saving versus spending ~ but our special interest driven government has not got this message.
Thus, Americans are driving their demand for true change by not spending and forcing a credit bloated financial system, that has been dependent on consumer spending, to reluctantly downsize, regulate and adjust to this economic fact of life ~ while the steadily eroding stock market mirrors this transition.
Meanwhile, we continue to spend vast amounts of monies on defense when, in reality, our so called ' War on Terror ' and blatant Empire building in both Iraq and Afghanistan is bankrupting the nation.
"We spent over trillions of dollars a year maintaining American empire. But nobody wants to give up the empire. Not even this new administration," Congressman Ron Paul said in an interview with CNN on Saturday.
The Texas congressman referred to President Barack Obama's decision to deploy 17,000 additional troops in Afghanistan ~ "They're ( the Obama administration ) pursuing the Bush policies in the Middle East and they're not cutting back," he added.
Then Ron Paul asked the most obvious question, on the floor of the house, "What if the American people learned the truth?" Here's the four minute must see Video ~
