Allen L Roland's Radio Weblog
My ongoing theme is always the truth , as I see it , and the exposure of lies, deception and manipulation wherever they exist. I remain firmly convinced that the world can no longer resist its innate urge to unite and co-operate with one another and we are very close to the point where war can no longer be an option if this transformation is to occur. OUR FORGOTTEN ILLEGAL  OCCUPATION / IRAQ

Six years have past since George W Bush illegally invaded and occupied Iraq. Now Iraq has left the Mainstream Press venue but, in reality, Iraq is still simmering at a slow boil and could flare up at a moment's notice: Allen L Roland

Six years have passed since the start of the Iraq War. The war, or better yet occupation, seems to have disappeared from the national conversation. Have we forgotten about Iraq  Do we need some reminders ?

Here's the current Iraq scorecard: Bush Lied, Soldiers keep on Dying as well as Iraqis.

4,260 U.S. Military Fatalities in Iraq
671 U.S. Military Fatalities in Afghanistan
31,217
U.S. Military Maimed in Iraq (source: DoD Update as of March 5, 2009)
99,679
Iraqis Reported Killed (source: Iraq Body Count)
1,320,110
Iraqis Reported Killed (source: justforeignpolicy.org)

And here's the Middle East Mosaic News Video update on Iraq that mentions " After six years and more than 4,000 U.S. casualties, the Iraq War seems to have disappeared from the national conversation. Violence in Iraq is down sharply when compared to 2006 and 2007 levels; however, it still continues at levels that most countries would find alarming. This week at least 15 people have been killed and 30 wounded when a suicide bomber struck a Kurdish funeral tent northeast of Baghdad. Hours earlier, eight people were killed and 10 wounded by a bomb west of the capital."

Our moral karmic debt is huge in Iraq. It is costing us over 1Billion dollars a month to maintain this illegal occupation or what I call Bush's folly the total cost will top $3 trillion and that's a conservative estimate.  It can't and should not be swept under the rug of public conversation.
