As I have been saying for years, Wall Street is indeed a crime scene and Michael Moore reveals most of the co-conspirators, including Barack Obama, in his devastating exposé of unrestrained Wall Street greed, political influence and its continuing deadly consequences for Main Street : Allen L Roland
Michael Moore hits a grand slam home run with his riveting, humorous and always informative exposé of the unholy alliance between big bankers and the Treasury Department, the tax burden shift from the rich to the poor and the loss of jobs and rights from individuals to corporations.
To me, the most devastating moment of the film ~ the moment when our democracy essentially ended and the plutocracy took full control ~ was when Congress passed the 700 billion dollar bank bailout last year, against the American public's wishes and after the House had rejected it, with the full agreement of President elect Obama. The Bush baton of Wall Street greed and denial was then effectively passed on to the Obama administration which has yet to reveal the full extent of our economic quagmire.
However, Moore's film effectively probes the root causes of the present worldwide financial meltdown ~ which began with the Reagan administration and spares no one in the process. Moore also explores the early ties of Wall Street to the White House. Watch here as ex Merrill Lynch head and Reagan chief of staff Donald Regan imperiously tells President Reagan " to speed it up " during a press conference ~ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/17/michael-moores-capitalism_n_289868.html
Now picture former Goldman Sachs CEO and Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson all but whispering to President George W Bush " We're all going belly up unless we get a massive bailout, George " ~ to which, corporate stooge Bush replies ~ " Don't worry, Hank ~ we'll scare Congress into doing our dirty work, just like we did in attacking Iraq, and Obama will go along with the bailout ~ he's one of us now ( chuckle ) ."
Here's a two minute trailer of this incredible film ~ which all Americans must see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhydyxRjujU
